2023-2024 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony of our University was held with great enthusiasm on 19 July 2024The ceremony was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, Istanbul University Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Bülent Zülfikar, Ümraniye Mayor İsmet Yıldırım, Beykoz University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Baki Aksu, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci, Prof. Dr. Ali Gökhan Yavuz, faculty deans and faculty members, graduating students and their relatives.
After our Rector, General Coordinator, Vice Rectors, academicians and students greeted the guests with a cortege march, our Rector addressed the guests with his opening speech at the ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. In his speech, our Rector said, ‘Today, when you receive your diplomas, you become ambassadors of this prestigious institution. Make the multilingual education you have received, the work experiences you have gained through internships, the friendships you have made, the intellectual discussions that have broadened your horizons and the memories that have fuelled your quest for knowledge milestones for the rest of your life and let them guide your path by carrying these experiences with you as you move forward. Always remember the strong ties you have forged here and stay in touch. Because your alma mater, the Tük-German University, will always be here to celebrate your achievements and lend you a helping hand when you need it.
Following our Rector, our General Coordinator spoke to the graduate students and said, “Those who adopt values such as honesty, truthfulness, compassion and empathy as the main principles of their lives will have both a deeply satisfying life and a bright career. In an ever-changing world, these values are unwavering guides that offer us direction and stability. Those who integrate these values into their lives open the doors to sustainable success and personal satisfaction.” he stated.
Addressing the students with his graduation speech, Ümraniye Mayor İsmet Yıldırım said, “You have come to the end of a difficult journey. This journey has given you lifelong knowledge, experiences and friendships beyond just textbooks and exams. I congratulate all of you for the perseverance, determination and work discipline you have shown to reach this stage.”
Faculty of Science Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysu Yarman, who was invited to the stage to make a speech on behalf of the academic and administrative staff of our university, said: ‘I have no doubt that you will be very successful all over the world, especially in our country and Germany, with the knowledge and experience you have gained here. Wherever you go, remember that this is your home and we are always with you. I believe that you will carry our country to even better places without leaving the light of Atatürk, our country, our flag and our values.’
At the ceremony, lastly Deniz Özdemirli, who graduated from the Faculty of Engineering as the top student, made his speech. Özdemirli started his speech by saying "Today, we are proud and excited to graduate from Turkish-German University." He added, "Now, we are starting a new era. I look to the future with hope. Because I know that we have grown up as individuals who have not only professional knowledge and skills, but also ethical values, awareness of responsibility and respect for people. These values make us not only good graduates, but also good people." After his speech, he was presented with a congratulation/achievement certificate and a gift by our Rector.
The 8th Graduation Ceremony of Turkish-German University ended with the cap throwing and group photo taking of the students from the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Culture and Communication Sciences, Law and Economics and Administrative Sciences.
