Battery Science Workshop 2024 Started with the Participation of Our Rector and General Coordinator

The opening of the international workshop titled "Battery Science 2024," organized by our university’s Department of Energy Science and Technology on November 11-12, 2024, took place with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, as well as academicians, researchers, industry representatives, and students from both Turkey and abroad. In his opening remarks, our Rector addressed the guests, stating, “I am proud that such a workshop is being held at our university and that we are able to bring together academicians from leading institutions and universities in Turkey and Germany as well as pioneering industry representatives in the battery sector in Turkey. I wholeheartedly believe that our workshop will strengthen our academic and industrial connections, opening doors to leading scientific research and innovative projects. Through this event, it will be a great pleasure for us to contribute to the energy solutions of the future by leveraging the expertise and knowledge from both countries."

In his speech, our General Coordinator said, "In the automotive industry, there has been no other area with more investment over the past few decades than in a single unit of battery cells. Last year, the German battery market grew robustly by 32%, reaching 23 billion euros. Battery development is a highly broad and fascinating field. I am confident that the next two days will be valuable for you. I wish you a highly successful workshop and hope you elicit plenty of useful information in this context.”

Sponsored by DAAD, the two-day workshop will facilitate interaction between participants from academia and industry through various sessions.
